Smart Meter Installation Schedule

Chubu Electric Power Grid began installing smart meters in the company's service area in October 2014. Since July 2015, Chubu Electric Power Grid had been successively installing smart meters at a rate of more than 1 million units per year in conjunction with the regular replacement (see note) of older electric meters throughout our service area. We have already completed the installation of smart meters for all customers (approximately 10 million units) by March 2023.

(Note) Japan’s Measurement Act prescribes the authorized certification period for electric meters, so before that period expires, the meter is replaced with a new one that has successfully passed the certification standard.
