Basic Procurement Policy
The basic policy for our procurement activities, which is based on the Chubu Electric Power Group CSR Declaration, is stated below.
1 Procurement Based on Open-Door Policy
We provide access to both Japanese and foreign companies, based on our open-door policy, so that we may do business with suppliers with superior technical expertise who can provide quality products and satisfactory service.
2 Fair and Honest Procurement
We transact fair and honest business in the procurement of materials, equipment and so on, based on economic rationality while assessing each supplier comprehensively for its prices, product quality, performance, safety, ability to meet delivery and construction deadlines, after-sale service, technical expertise, production capacity, business status, safety management system, and stance on corporate social responsibility (CSR), among others.
3 Building Partnerships
- We regard each of our suppliers as an important partner with whom we seek mutual growth.
- Through open communication, fair and sincere transactions and appropriate price negotiations and pass-through, we form stronger trust-based relationships and work together with our partner suppliers for coexistence and co-prosperity throughout the entire supply chain.
4 Thorough Compliance
- We strictly comply with all domestic and international laws, rules, social standards and corporate ethics, etc. and tackle all forms of corruption including bribery.
- We carefully manage personal and confidential information, protect intellectual property rights, and so on.
5 Respect for Human Rights
We respect human rights (including prohibition of child labor and forced labor, elimination of discrimination, etc.) and workers' rights (freedom of association, right of collective bargaining, payment of appropriate wages, etc.).
6 Consideration for Safety and Health
Based on the principle “Safety takes priority above all else,” we take measures to prevent occupational accidents and injuries, ensure public sanitation and safety, and promote the health of all parties involved in the supply chain.
7 Consideration for the Environment
Cooperating with our suppliers, we conduct the procurement activities in consideration of the environment to realize a carbon-free, symbiotic, and recycling-oriented society.
8 Thorough Risk Management
- We identify and evaluate risks in the procurement activities and take appropriate measures.
- In case serious risks become apparent, we will respond immediately and take appropriate measures.
